Call for Papers: Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence Aided 6G Communications and Applications
Introduction of the journal:
Intelligent and Converged Networks is an international specialized journal that focuses on the latest developments in communication technology. The journal is co-published by Tsinghua University Press (TUP) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technology (ICT). Intelligent and Converged Networks draws its name from the accelerating convergence of different fields of communication technology and the growing influence of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Introduction of the special issue:
With the rapid deployment of 5G communication networks, the sixth-generation (6G) mobile network has attracted extensive attentions from academia, industry, and government agencies. The progress of the 6G network in enhanced mobile broadband, massive machine-type communications and ultra-reliable and low-latency communications will lead to the rapid development of new applications, such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), holographic communications, vehicle-to-everything (V2X), self-driving cars, and connectivity between massive ground based sensors and space satellites. With the scarce high-quality spectrum resources and the limited capacity of antennas to support the increase of new and diverse applications, 6G communications must ensure reliability, security and privacy in the big data era.
This special issue aims to highlight the latest research concerning the framework, key techniques, applications and solutions for 6G communications. Members of academia, industry and governments are invited to submit their research, exploring how cutting edge technologies such as Terahertz, mmWave communications and artificial intelligence (AI) based techniques can be leveraged in favour of innovative solutions to tackle the challenges around the development of 6G and its related applications.
Topics of interest may include, but are not limited to:
- Key drivers, new services and requirements for 6G
- Network architecture and protocols for 6G
- Physical layer design for 6G
- Resource management for 6G
- Security and privacy protection for 6G
- Satellite, UAV and VANET communications
- AI aided communication techniques
- Computing, communication, caching in 6G
- Massive access for 6G
- Big data in 6G
- Terahertz and mmWave communications
- Internet-of-things connectivity
